Learning to share is important — especially sharing with your siblings. But sometimes, sharing can be hard. And when you’re asked to share your favorite new toy… well, that’s really difficult! On April 25th, Books of Wonder is thrilled to host the Launch Party for a wonderful new picture book Peanut & Fifi Have a Ball. In their new book, NY Times bestselling author RANDALL de SEVE and illustrator PAUL SCHMID have come together to deliver a poignant, yet lighthearted story about the importance of sharing. Join us as we are introduced to Fifi, her younger sister Peanut, and the new ball they must learn to share. Beginning at 5pm, this talented author and artist team will present their brand new book, answer questions from the audience, and sign copies of all their wonderful books. Ages 3-6. Thursday, April 25th, 5-7pm.

     

Last night @BooksofWonder The Girls Got Real!

Teen readers were in for a real treat last night as 4 wonderful teen authors and their fans joined Books of Wonder for a spirited event aptly named Girls Get Real. Led in a conversation by SARAH MLYNOWSKI, authors JEN CALONITA —  ELIZABETH EULBERG — JENNIFER E. SMITH — presented their new books, and met and signed books for all their fans.

Picture This! Conversations with illustrators from Paris and NY is coming to @BooksofWonder

‘Picture This! Conversations With Illustrators From Paris and New York’(Monday) The French Embassy is sponsoring this festival, which focuses on a language children’s book and comic-book artists share, no matter where they live: the image. At this inaugural event Hervé Tullet, called “the prince of preschool books” in France, will discuss the magic of illustration with Mo Willems, the popular American author of the Knuffle Bunny books and the Elephant and Piggie series, among others. Come meet these talented poets and listen to their wonderful poems as STEPHANIE CALMENSON presents Dinner at the Panda Palace, a book with some wonderful rhymes about animals; NY Times best-selling poet ALAN KATZ tickles our funny bones with his hilarious book, Mosquitoes Are Ruining My SummerNY Times bestselling author MARILYN SINGER delights us with her collection of reverso poems, Follow Follow; author and artist ROBERT WEINSTOCK goes pre-historic with his collection of poems in Can You Dig It; author ROBERT FORBES presents Let’s Have a Bite!, a collection of delectable verses about animals both rascally and sweet; and award-winning author CHARLES R. SMITH JR. shares Brick by Brick, the powerful story in verse of how the White House was built. Don’t miss Caldecott Honor artist and Geisel Award-winner MO WILLEMS and visiting French author and artist HERVE TULLET as these two multifaceted, innovative talents come together for a moderated conversation — by Jenny Brown from Shelf Aware-ness — about creating children’s books. This is a truly rare opportunity to hear from these two immensely talented authors and artists and get a glimpse into their creative processes. The conversation will be from 5:30 - 6:30pm, after which  HERVE TULLET will meet and greet fans and sign copies of all his wonderful titles! All Ages. Monday, April 8th, beginning at 5:30pm.
