NATIONAL BOOK AWARD NOMINEES
Tonight @BooksofWonder is thrilled to welcome three of the five nominees for this year’s National Book Award for Young People’s Literature. Start your week off right and join us as we welcome these three authors that have certainly earned this coveted acknowledgment with their latest novels. Joining us from Chicago, award winning author FRANNY BILLINGSLEY will present Chime, a magical mystery with witches, hidden spirits, and a young girl’s chance at finding love and true self; all the way from Alaska, author DEBBY DAHL EDWARDSON will share My Name Is Not Easy, a powerful story played out in cold climates uncovering hot button issues and cultural clashes; and visiting from Michigan is two-time Newbery Honor author, GARY SCHMIDT, to share his newest title Okay For Now, a tale of a troubled eighth grader finding his way in a new town during the turbulent 1968-69 school year. Beginning at 7pm these two wonderful authors will present their acclaimed new novels, take questions from the audience, and gladly sign copies of all their excellent books. Ages 10 and up. Monday, November 14th, 7-9pm.
