Thursday, June 21st is a big day! It not only marks the official start of summer and is the longest day of the year, but it is also the sixth year for New York City’s largest music event Make Music New York, a unique festival of free concerts throughout the five boroughs. Make Music New York takes place simultaneously with similar festivities in more than 460 cities around the world. Books of Wonder is proud to once again host wonderful live musicians performing outside our store for a full day of live music. So don’t miss this chance to be part of a global celebration of music making … Last year Books of Wonder celebrated Make Music New York with a full day of concerts and fun. There was dancing in the streets in-front of the store and classical music played in the Books of Wonder Cafe. This year Books of Wonder is hosting 5 live performances beginning at 11am and going straight through to 8pm. There will be all kinds of music and everyone is invited to come dance with us.    Here is the Books of Wonder schedule for Make Music New York.   11-12pm - Future Star Studios - Children’s chorus.   12-30-1:30pm - The Fuzzy Lemons - Family friendly rock.      3-4pm - Amelia & the Family Business - Family friendly rock. 5-6pm - Jessy Tomsko - Family friendly folk-pop.
