@BooksofWonder is thrilled to introduce… Ryan Sias’s Story Laboratory! Led by author/illustrator RYAN SIAS this 4 session workshop will introduce your young writers and artists to the basic storytelling concepts of structure, character, setting, and more, while stimulating creative thinking and problem solving skills. The workshop will kick off with a reading of Ryan’s book “Zoe and Robot - Let’s Pretend!” and follow with a discussion about character and story development. Then collectively the children will create a silly character with Ryan’s help. Each child will write and illustrate their own simple story. Through this workshop, participants will come to understand the power of expression by being able to communicate with art, and bring joy from drawing funny things and making others laugh. This workshop will be divided into 4 one-hour long sessions, held once a month from March through June and is a free event. Ages 8 to 12. The workshops will be held from 4-5pm, the second Wednesday of every month, March 14th, April 11th, May 9th, June 11th. Please register at the front counter at Books of Wonder, by phone at 212-989-3270 or by emailing store@booksofwonder.com. Join us March 7th at Books of Wonder for World Read Aloud Day and a preview of this workshop, more info here!
