Books of Wonder is delighted to join in the nationwide celebration of poetry for the month of April by launching the month with a special poetry event. Please join us on Sunday, April 8th, as we are treated to some great poetry created for young readers. Though we’re still waiting to hear back from some of the poets we’ve invited, we’ve already confirmed the following 6 poets: STEPHANIE CALMENSON presents Dinner at the Panda Palace a book with some wonderful rhymes about animals; NY Times best-selling poet ALAN KATZ tickles our funny bones with his hilarious book Mosquitoes Are Ruining My Summer; NY Times bestselling author MARILYN SINGER delights us with her collection of reverso poems, Follow Follow; author and artist ROBERT WEINSTOCK goes pre-historic with his collection of poems in Can You Dig It; author ROBERT FORBES presents Beast Friends Forever, a collection of delectable verses about animals both rascally and sweet; and award winning author CHARLES R. SMITH JR. shares Brick by Brick, the powerful story of building the White House . Poetry month celebrates something truly wonderful and Books of Wonder can hardly wait to share this event with you and your young poets! Beginning at noon, the poets will read their work, answer questions from the audience, and sign all their books. Ages 5 and up. Sunday, April 7th, 12-2pm.
This past Saturday @BooksofWonder Caldecott Honor Artist David Ezra Stein unveiled his hilarious new picture book Ol’ Mama Squirrel. A great crowd turned out to hear David share some of his wonderful books and a song he wrote about his latest title.
